Student Loans

Direct Subsidized & Unsubsidized Loans

The U.S. Department of Education offers a Direct Loan program to students with demonstrated financial need to help cover the costs of higher education. The amount you are eligible to borrow will be determined by the FAFSA and the loan must be repaid with interest.

What's the difference between subsidized and unsubsidized loans? The U.S. Department of Education Direct will pay your interest on Direct Subsidized Loans while you're in school at least half-time and for the first six months after you leave school. Click here to learn more about Direct Loans here.

Parent Plus Loan

Parent PLUS Loans are credit-based loan programs for parents of dependent students who are enrolled at least half time. The amount a parent is eligible to borrow is up to the cost of attendance and must be repaid with interest. Click here to learn more about Parent PLUS Loans.

Private Loans

Private student loans are additional loans a student can use to help cover their educational expenses. If a student does not have enough credit history established, they may need a credit-worthy co-signer. We strongly encourage students to take the time to research several lenders before making a decision. Fast Choice offers students the opportunity to simultaneously cost-compare lenders. If you have questions about private loans, please contact the Financial Aid Office at financialaid@lifepacific.edu.
