with Dr. Nijay K. Gupta

  • Editor of upcoming second edition of IVP Dictionary of Paul and His Letters and editor of several journals
  • Author of Paul and the Language of Faith, A Beginners Guide to New Testament Students, and commentaries on Philippians, Colossians and 1 and 2 Thessalonians
  • He lives in Portland, OR and attends Riversgate Church (A Foursquare Church).

Theologians have long debated the center of New Testament theology: justification? Apocalyptic rescue? Mystical union with Christ? In this lecture, Dr. Gupta identifies a master theme hidden in plain sight in the New Testament: love. Love is often treated as too emotional to be "theological," or as an afterthought ("Christian behavior"). Gupta will demonstrate how love is at the very heart of what the gospel is all about, and how love conquers evil, unites the church, and inspires the Christian mission.
