LPU Press Room | May 24, 2021

The Human Development and Psychology major is carrying out the LPU Mission, Vision, Values, and Culture, along with President Richey’s Five Presidential Priorities which include the Strengthening of Strategic Partnerships.  Looking over the past two semesters (Fall 2020 & Spring 2021) and focusing on the future two semesters (Summer & Fall 2021) an increase in community partners is exciting to see.

In the HDP major, forty-two students served or will serve with 26 different community partners over the four semesters.

Seven agencies are existing partners; four agencies are reconnecting partners; and fifteen agencies are new partners with LPU's HDP internship program.

A huge thank you and a welcome to our new LPU community partners as we seek to serve in the church, workplace, and the world!

HDP Internship Feature Partner: Olive Crest

LPU welcomes Olive Crest Foster Family and Adoption Agency as a community partner for internships in the Human Development and Psychology major.

Olive Crest is an agency which provides adoption services, family support services, foster care service, and mental health services for people of all ages located in California, Nevada, and the Pacific Northwest. Olive Crest transforms the lives of at-risk children from abuse.

“I am thrilled to join in partnering with Olive Crest” says Professor Deb Baker. “Olive Crest comes with a valued and respected name in foster care services. I have known of Olive Crest most all my professional career as a social worker. In our HDP program we have students called into a career in social work and I know Olive Crest will be a wonderful internship experience as a partner in preparing our students.”  Thank you to our LPU Board of Trustees who connected HDP with Olive Crest.
