Life Pacific University announced that Abundant Living Family Church (ALFC) has become its first official online degree program church partner. The program will be piloted with a select few California-based churches in 2020 with plans to open the program to any qualifying church in the fall of 2021.
ALFC Executive Pastor, Adam Mesa, and LPU President, Angie Richey, signed a partnership agreement on January 22, 2020. Members of ALFC and LPU leadership were present for the momentous occasion. Abundant Living Family Church is a non-denominational church in Rancho Cucamonga, California with over 6,000 people in their services each week. Pastor Adam and his team plan to announce the partnership to their church during the Easter Services at the Honda Center in April. This partnership is sure to raise up leaders who will serve God in the Church, the workplace, and the world.
LPU President Angie Richey shares, "Partnership is key to success. LPU has always done well when we've had thriving church partnerships. We are all very excited about partnering with Pastor Adam Mesa and Abundant Living Family Church. Adam is a passionate leader with incredible vision. I believe God is going to do a good work through this partnership in 2020."
The local church has a growing need for leaders who possess both practical, hands-on ministry experience and a thorough Biblical education. To raise up leaders equipped with experience and education, the local church and the university are best partnered together; neither one can do it alone. We are excited to announce that beginning in fall 2020, Life Pacific University will be partnering with local churches to launch an innovative program designed to develop leaders who are prepared holistically to be servant leaders in the church, the workplace, and the world.
The LPU Church Partnership program integrates online education into local church internships. The partnership program empowers approved churches to enroll students into a 2-year associates degree entirely online while participating in an internship at their church. The program includes pathways to LPU's online B.A. in Ministry and Leadership or Organizational Management, as well as several on campus programs. The internship is designed by the church, with support from LPU, to fit the church’s context. Students in the program receive academic credit for their internship experience and they receive an exclusive reduced tuition rate to ensure their education is affordable.
