LPU Press Room | December 21, 2020

This week, LPU men’s and women’s soccer partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank, RSMcares and Shepherd of the Hills Church to serve thousands of meals to over 600 families. Nearly 15,000lbs of food was distributed during the five-hour event going into the holiday week.

These ministries host a monthly distribution, serving a variety of underserved members of the community and a growing food need due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.  It was reported that this was their largest single distribution of 2020 and serving nearly 3-4x their normal monthly quantity.

LPU men’s and women’s soccer student-athletes and coaches took a pause from finals in order to provide much needed reinforcements on the day.  LPU Soccer will rejoin the charities in early January to help with the post holidays distribution as well.
