"I'm finally here."
Husband, father, pastor, future church planter, and summer camp director are just a few of the many hats Josh Hudson wears. Although Josh is busy, he is loving every minute of where God has led him. Serving in full-time ministry at Restoration Church in Alabama for the last seven years, the 2012 grad says that his time at LPU prepared and equipped him to lead.
Josh recalled his first Chapel in which he realized, “I’m finally here.” The “here” Josh talks about was a long way from Camp Courtney in North Carolina where at the age of 14, Josh felt a tug from the Lord for full-time ministry and knew that He needed to go to Life Pacific one day. In fact, Josh never applied to any other colleges. A member of the first Ignite class, Josh says the one-year intensive was exactly what he needed and became a good stepping-stone into the rest of his future at LPU. Although he deeply missed family and friends in Alabama, Josh is grateful for his season in California which exposed him to different voices, leaders, and ways of worship. As a student, Josh built relationships which he still carries today, including his lovely wife Angel.
“Calling will keep you when your career won’t." - Dan Stewart
Josh also remembers many LPU faculty and staff taking the time to invest in him ultimately influencing his development as a transformational leader. It was Dan Stewart who told him, “Calling will keep you when your career won’t”. Still today, Josh has a key with the word “CALLED” imprinted on it to remind him that God is faithful to fulfill what He says He will do. It is that message of God’s faithfulness that Josh draws strength from every day. When asked to share words of wisdom with LPU’s future alumni, Josh said this, “Know that God is faithful, wherever you find yourself. He’s got you!”
