While LPU is the most affordable and accredited private Christian college in California, we recognize students and families may need assistance in paying for their education. Students may qualify for a variety of financial aid opportunities, including scholarships, grants, and loans. Take a look at the different types of financial aid available based on your academic level, and contact us if you have any questions.

Federal & State Grants

Pell Grant

The Federal Pell Grant Program provides federal funds for students of qualifying families. To be eligible, an applicant must be a United States citizen or permanent resident, demonstrate financial need, and must not have previously earned a bachelor’s degree.

CAL Grant

The Cal Grant program provides awards for California resident applicants who demonstrate financial need and meet GPA requirements. California resident students may apply by filling out the FAFSA and a GPA Verification Form. To be eligible for a fall semester award the student must submit a Cal Grant application and FAFSA by March 2.

California Dream Act

The California Dream Act is for non-SSN (social security number) students. Students must complete the online Dream Act Application and re-submit the Dream Act (Cal Grant) application online every year. Students who have never received the Dream Act (Cal Grant) must apply by the March 2 deadline date and submit a non-SSN Cal Grant form.

Campus Visit Scholarship

The Campus Visit Scholarship is available to any incoming freshman, transfer or freshman transfer student who takes part in a registered visit on campus (Admissions-sponsored event or individual tour) between August 1, 2025 and August 30, 2026.

Annual Amount for 2026–27 School Year

Fall Admits $1,000 — to be disbursed equally between Fall 2026 and Spring 2027

Spring Admits $500 — to be disbursed fully in Spring 2027

Application No separate application required. The Office of Admissions will award this scholarship to eligible students upon acceptance to Life Pacific University.
Deadline August 30, 2026 — Students must take part in a registered visit on campus between August 1, 2025 and August 30, 2026
Eligibility

Students must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • The student must be an incoming freshman, transfer, or freshman transfer student who took part in a registered visit on campus (Admissions-sponsored event or individual tour) between August 1, 2025 and August 30, 2026 and enrolls in the Fall 2026 entry term to receive a $1,000 scholarship or Spring 2027 entry term to receive a $500 scholarship.
  • International students are eligible for this scholarship.
  • Readmit students, online bachelor’s students or students who are earning a second bachelor’s degree are not eligible.
  • Students are eligible for only one Campus Visit Scholarship regardless of the number of visits.
  • The student must remain continuously enrolled. Eligibility for the scholarship will terminate if a recipient withdraws for any reason, including illness or academic probation.
  • The student must be enrolled at least half-time for each term to be eligible.

Renewable Status No, this scholarship is not renewable. The scholarship is a one-time, non-renewable scholarship.
Terms and Conditions

Please review the following terms and conditions regarding this scholarship:

  • For students admitted for the fall term, the scholarship is limited to one year/two semesters of enrollment and will be paid out equally in the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters.
  • For students admitted for the spring term, the scholarship is limited to one semester of enrollment and will be paid out in the Spring 2027 semester.
  • The student must remain continuously enrolled. Eligibility for the scholarship will terminate if a recipient withdraws for any reason, including illness or academic probation.
  • The student must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible.
  • If a student postpones enrollment to a future academic term, they will not be eligible for the scholarship.
    • Note that if a student admitted for Fall 2026 postpones to Spring 2027, they will be allowed to have the spring portion only.
  • Other institutional aid will typically not reduce this scholarship unless the scholarship results in gift aid in excess of the student’s cost of attendance.
  • External aid such as private scholarships or Cal Grant will typically not reduce this scholarship unless the scholarship reduces eligibility for the external aid or if the scholarship results in gift aid in excess of the student’s cost of attendance. However, the scholarship must be coordinated with other state and federal financial aid and may impact eligibility based on their rules.
  • The recipient must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress standards to maintain eligibility for the scholarship.
  • The scholarship is not transferable.
  • The scholarship is only applicable to freshman, transfers and freshman transfers (readmits, post-bachelors and second bachelors are not eligible)
  • The scholarship cannot be used to cover the cost of study abroad programs, including those led by LPU.
  • Students who are using the Tuition Waiver program are not eligible for this scholarship. If the scholarship is awarded before a tuition waiver is added to a student’s financial aid package, the Campus Visit Scholarship will be removed.
  • The scholarship is non-refundable in the event that the student has sufficient other institutional gift aid to cover all institutional charges.
  • The scholarship will typically be added to a student’s financial aid package within a week of acceptance to LPU.

Outside Scholarships

Students are highly encouraged to apply for outside scholarships to help cover the cost of attendance. Scholarships may be available through an employer, parent’s employer, or through businesses and civic organizations in the community.
