Tim Clark, Dean of Students
Tim Clark is our Dean of Students and Campus Pastor. In 1992, when he graduated from LPC, he became the youth pastor at Valley Christian Center in Fresno California, from which he planted a church at the University of Washington in Seattle. In 2000, Tim (and his wife Deborah) became the Sr. Pastors of Newberg Foursquare Church in a small college town 30 miles outside of Portland, Oregon. In October of 2005, Tim began his current assignment at LPC.

Tim likes to read, watch movies, eat at fun places, travel, and hang out with his family. He and Deborah are also the pastor’s of Sunday Morning Chapel, a church that meets on the campus of Life Pacific College. Tim and Deborah have been married for 10 years and have 3 children: Caleb (5), Johnny (3), and Abigail (born 3.25.2007).

Liz Dewberry, Associate Dean of Students
Liz Dewberry is our Associate Dean of Students and Director of Student Life. Liz is a California native and earned her Bachelors (Communication Studies '02) and Masters (Organizational Leadership '07) at Azusa Pacific University. In between degrees she worked for the English Language Institute China. It was there that she developed a heart for working with college aged students, spending two years recruiting and a year teaching in Vietnam.

Liz spends her vacation time filling up the pages in her passports. Liz holds U.S. and Australian citizenship and having both helps with all of the travel! She’s been to 19 different countries and has traveled extensively in Australia and Asia. Her heart beats for the Great Commission and mobilizing students to action in ministry.

Linna Martz, Director of Residence Life
Linna walked onto the Life Pacific College campus over a decade ago as a student.  Over those ten years, Linna married Scott Martz, became a Resident Director (together with her husband), graduated from LIFE, taught elementary school, earned her Masters degree in Organizational Management from Azusa Pacific University, and returned to the employment of Life Pacific College as the Director of Residence Life.  (Pretty much in that order.)  She and her husband Scott live on campus with their two children, Zelun and Kami. She enjoys long walks on the beach and candlelight dinners.

Scott Martz, Director of Food Services
Scott was born in the small town of Lodi California (yes people get stuck there) and grew up in California’s central valley until moving to Southern California to attend Life Pacific College. While still a student at Life Scott was brought on as the Campus Dining Director in 1998 and later that year married his wife Linna.  In 1999 Scott was hired as a Resident Director where his passion for students and student life grew.  He graduated from Life in 2003 with a B.A. and after graduating, continued on in the Campus Dining Department where he stills serves.  Scott and Linna had their first addition to their family in October of 2003 with their son, Zelun, and had a second addition in March of 2005 with their daughter, Kami.  In 2006 Scott’s wife Linna took the lead in the housing program where Scott still assists her.  When he finds the time, Scott plans on starting his Masters degree at Azusa Pacific University in Business Administration.

Jake Davis, ASB President
Jake is what we like to call “a farm boy.” He grew up in central Indiana out in the middle of nowhere in particular surrounded by the constant presence of cattle, horses, and even goats. But don’t let the fool you, Jake is on top of the fashion world, sporting the last trends, the hottest, newest cars, the most extravagant…well ok, maybe not so much. But he sure ain’t no red neck, that’s for sure, shooot. Jake enjoys most genres of music mainly listening to blues, hardcore, and just good ol’ rock and roll. As ASB President, Jake is considered one of the number one student leaders on campus acting as a student representative to the faculty and visa versa (liaison from faculty to students). In his free time, when he has free time, Jake likes to just relax and hang out with friends, play video games, go to shows, you know, that old chestnut.

Nicole Harkins, Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Students
Nicole Harkins was born and raised in the beautiful evergreen state of Washington. She has three troublemaking older brothers, two wonderful parents and one adorable nephew. She enjoys the outdoors, watch movies, play cards, hang out with friends/family and sign language. Funny things about Nicole would be that her friends label her as a “tactile” person because she is an affectionate person and she likes to feel all different textures (especially the soft ones). This leads to her odd enjoyment of blankets. You may see her walking around with a blanket around her shoulders or taking one to the movies. She is not sure how she ended up in California other than the Lord leading her to LIFE. She is currently finishing out her senior year with a specialization of counseling. She is not exactly sure where the Lord is going to lead her from here, but she knows it will be an adventure.

David Ortega, Director of Ministry Formation
David is returning to LIFE Pacific College after graduating in 2004.  He has been in Southern California since 2001, has served on staff at New Life Community Church in Pomona for four years, and has recently stepped down from “official” ministry to help volunteer with ushering, greeting, nursery, youth, and children’s ministry.  He has been licensed with Foursquare since his graduation from LIFE, and wants someday to be a Senior Pastor.  Until then, he is continuing his training at Azusa Pacific University, where he was awarded the Kern Family Scholarship to pursue a Masters of Divinity degree.  He is very excited about his new position here at LIFE, knowing that the school continues to work diligently toward its goal of helping to shape God’s Kingdom by training our students well and caring for their whole being (not just academics).  He believes this heart is what will make the school successful for a long time.
