Leadership and Ministry Formation
Ministry formation, as we define it, differs somewhat from Spiritual formation, at least from the type of spiritual formation that tends to be defined in a way that emphasizes the inward development of a healthy spiritual life for a person. Ministry formation involves self-discipline, but remains largely outward focused.
Let us define our purpose from the start – we are in the business of training leaders. At Life Pacific College, you will be trained in sound biblical exegesis in order to faithfully interpret and teach God's word. You will also be challenged to develop your strengths and intentionally develop ministry and leadership skills as you complete our curriculum, with the goal of entering into active ministry leadership or further training upon graduation. Our goal is to “restock the shelves” of foursquare leadership, but also train and send leaders to wherever they are needed in the Body of Christ.
Through intense and purposeful academic, relational, and personal investment into our students, we have faithfully upheld our commitment to every student who has walked through our doors. Our efforts, however, will only yield as much of a result as your initiative and motivation allows. We challenge you, no, implore you to understand how crucial it is that your commitment meets our own. As you research, as you commit to serve in a local church, as you discover your strengths and press in to the Lord in prayer for guidance, and as you learn the lessons of leadership by trial and error, you may be surprised at your own progress by the time you reach graduation. There is no such thing as a perfect leader – only a continually developing one. We are all here to serve. And we are all here to learn.
