Tuition and Fees
Tuition for each course is $120.00 per unit. Students enrolled must pay all costs in advance by check, money order, cash, Visa, or MasterCard. There is a $15.00 fee for any returned checks. An additional fee for postage is charged to those whose materials must be shipped outside of the United States. All fees must be paid in US currency.
Refund Policy
Payments are due when a student enrolls for the course. Course costs will be refunded (less a $15.00 handling fee) to any student who cancels his or her enrollment in the course within 30 days of ordering it. In order to cancel the course, the student must send a written request for cancellation of the course along with all course materials and textbooks. The Distance Learning Department will mail a refund within 30 days after receipt of the request for cancellation and the returned materials. Books and course materials must be returned in resalable condition to receive the refund. Tuition is not transferable to any other person under any circumstances.
Financial Aid
At the present time, we are unable to facilitate the use of financial aid for Distance Education. Please continue to check with us, as we work on making this available to you.
We invite you to check out http://key.com/career for information on obtaining a low interest loan to fund your education.
Veterans Benefits and Tuition Assistance
Veterans may apply for benefits for independent studies when enrolled in the Associate of Arts Degree program. The student must provide a copy of his or her discharge papers (DD214) and Certificate of Eligibility (22-0557). For further information regarding this benefit, call 800.827.1000 or go to http://www.gibill.va.gov. This could later be applied to the Bachelor of Arts Degree in resident studies at Life Pacific College.
Tuition assistance vouchers from the military may also be submitted with a course order form and application.
Length of Courses
Students are given six months to complete a course. If the student is unable to complete the course within the time frame, the opportunity will be given to extend the course deadline for another six months for a twenty-five dollar processing fee. This is a one-time fee only.
If the course is not completed after the reinstatement, the course will receive a grade of "F." A student may enroll in the course again, for the full cost of the course and materials. If a course is failed twice, an appeal must be submitted to the Academic Committee in order to retake the course.
Academic Integrity
Each student at LIFE is responsible to maintain honesty and integrity in all academic work. All projects and papers sent in to the Distance Learning Department must be the student’s own work; no rewording or copying of another person’s work is allowed. Any violations will carry a penalty which can range from loss of the assignment (earned "F") to academic dismissal. Lack of integrity is evidenced by:
Cheating – using unauthorized material or information in any academic exercise. Projects or papers must be original work by the student submitting the work, and it cannot be work done for another course unless there is pre-approval by the instructor. Exam situations assume individual and unassisted work overseen by the monitor selected by the student and approved by the Distance Learning Department.
Plagiarism – representing another person’s ideas or words as one’s own. This includes three or more words taken directly from an author, also distinctive ideas or phrases, and paraphrased arguments or line of thought without citation.
Fabrication – inventing or falsifying any information or citation in academic work.
