The Dining Service staff welcomes you to Life Pacific College. Our dining program is an integral part of the residential experience. Here are the answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about our program. If you have any additional questions, please stop by the Campus Dining Office or call (909) 706-3033.

What meal plans are available?

Life Pacific College offers one “all inclusive” meal plan for its on campus residents.  This at first may not seem cost effective, but as one looks closely at the program they will realize that in fact it is a significant cost savings to them.

Every on campus resident is entitled to 19 meals per week in our college’s food service.  While all students may not eat at every meal this only helps keep the cost down for every on campus student.  How you ask?  Well, in a traditional pay-as-you-go program most colleges have to charge a higher price to guarantee coverage of both food and labor.

At LIFE everybody pays a flat amount, whether you come to a meal or not.  This empowers the food services to utilize left over money for no shows at meals to roll over to other meals, thereby keeping costs to every student down. You can choose to eat as often or as little as you want in the Café, it's your choice. Everyone pays the same price.  However, on average, LIFE’s food service plan saves our students about 30%, compared to other area colleges. How’s that for savings?

Can I change my meal plan?

Meal plans can only be augmented in the case of dire or extreme circumstance and must be done so only through the Office of Student Life with direction from a  physician; on a case by case basis.

How are my meals accounted for?

Each time you enter the dining hall a meal will be deducted and card swipe tracked by computer. A meal plan begins Sunday breakfast and ends Saturday dinner. Meals not used during the week cannot be carried over to the following week.

Are meal plans transferable?

Only you may use your card, no one else.

If I miss a lot of meals…is there a way to get a refund?

Unfortunately, no there is not.  The Café operates with an "all inclusive" meal plan for every resident and any meals missed is considered to be the preference of the student and therefore not considered for meal charge exemption.

What do I do if my card is lost or stolen?

First, the college offers two temporary one time use cards for just this type of event so that you don’t go hungry.  Report your lost card immediately to the Office of Student Life. This will ensure that no one else can use your card. A replacement card may be attained from the Library for a $10 fee.

How do I make a healthy choice?

Life Pacific College understands that healthy eating is necessary for the well being of its students and therefore offer an all you can eat option it is important to eat in moderation, pay attention to suggested portion sizes and exercise regularly.

Can I bring a guest to the dining hall?

Guests may come at any time. Meals can be purchased at the entrance to the Café.

What if I have special dietary requirements?

If you are placed on a restricted diet by your physician, please contact the Dining Service office so we can discuss your needs.

Are there other dining options?

In the Fall of 2007 we hope to have completed a coffee shop/student store to meet off hours needs for our students.  Our aim is to keep prices low to better serve you.

My job conflicts with the cafeteria meal hours, can I eat at another time?

Absolutely!  We will be happy to prepare a meal to go for you. Stop by the Café’s patio entrance before a meal to make a deli sandwich to go; or sign up for a full meal to be picked up by a friend or roommate (Just remember to have them bring your card to swipe!).

If I am sick, can I eat in my room?

Yes, a friend can get food for you. They must present your I.D. card at the cafeteria where they will sign for your meal. We will provide appropriate containers for transporting your meal.

Can I use my meal plan for residence hall sponsored banquets, picnics, etc?

Only if the event is co-sponsored by the college's food services.  Any other event will be at the event organizers discretion on cost.
