The Associated Student Body is the hub for student life. ASB is responsible for representing students, organizing events and activities, and fostering campus unity, and developing an engaging campus culture. The mission of the Associated Student Body (ASB) is to serve the unique and diverse LPC community, encourage exponential spiritual growth, empower students to become the leaders they were destined to be, and to unify our campus so that as a whole, we can bring glory to Christ. Each year, the ASB executive team identifies a theme for the student body. The theme for 2016-2017:
2016-2017 ASB Theme: HOPE Arise
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
The mission of the college is to develop students into leaders who serve God. This is the very thing that unites our students. Some choose to serve through vocational ministry, some through business, some counseling, some by meeting social needs, and some through sports. Overall, one thing is certain; we serve God best by being in relationship with Him. This year we seek to stake out hope in God and begin to reflect and act on the things in our life. It all goes back to hope and having something to believe in, so we earnestly seek God as a community in hope to see our lives be transformed.
The ASB Executive Team
The ASB Executive Team is comprised of the ASB President and multiple ASB Vice Presidents who oversee specific areas of responsibility. Each ASB Vice President oversees a volunteer cabinet of current students who are help with events, carrying out initiatives, and fulfilling the responsibilities specific to their ASB branch. The ASB President is an elected position, chosen by the student body, the year prior to his or her term of service. The ASB Vice Presidents are interviewed and selected by the previous ASB team and the President-Elect the year prior to their term of service. Each term of service is for one academic year.
