GOALS:
This minor is for the student who, upon graduation, envisions serving a local congregation in a pastoral role.
Upon completion of this program a student should:
- understand what the Bible teaches about the foundation, the form, and the functions of the church,
- be able to effectively communicate God’s Word with clarity and conviction,
- know how to carry out the various duties of pastoral ministry,
- have skill in leading, organizing, delegating, and working with people,
- understand how to select, develop, release, and support leadership in a local church,
- have a consistent life of personal integrity, discipline, prayer, study, and spiritual growth,
- demonstrate careful stewardship of their personal time and finances.
- know how to form and nurture healthy relationships, especially marriage and family relationships,
- understand how to give pastoral counsel with wisdom and compassion.
